Step 1: Check if Insurance Should Pay First

Before you finance a roof, make sure it isn't an insurance claim. If wind, hail or a fallen tree damaged your roof, your homeowners policy may pay for most of the repair or replacement, and you would only pay your deductible. We check this for free during the inspection. You can also try our roof insurance coverage checker.

Ways to Pay for a New Roof in New Jersey

OptionHow it worksGood to know
Contractor financingMonthly payments through a lending partner, arranged when you sign your roof contract.Quick to apply. Terms and rates depend on the lender and your credit approval.
Homeowners insurancePays for covered storm damage, minus your deductible.Only for sudden damage, not for age and wear.
Home equity loan or HELOCBorrow against the equity in your home through your bank.Often lower rates, but takes longer and uses your home as collateral.
Personal loanUnsecured loan from a bank or credit union.Fast, no collateral, usually higher rates than home equity.
Savings or a repair firstPay for a repair now and plan the replacement later.Works when the roof still has a few good years left.

How Our Roof Financing Works

  1. Free inspection and written estimate, so you know the exact amount you need.
  2. We explain the financing options available at that moment, with the monthly payment, term and total cost in writing.
  3. You apply. The lender reviews your application and gives you a decision.
  4. We schedule the job once you're approved and comfortable with the terms.

Financing is subject to credit approval by the lender. Rates, terms and availability vary. We never pressure you to finance: you can always compare our options with your own bank.

Roof Financing Tips Before You Sign

  • Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment. A longer term can cost much more in interest.
  • Ask about promotional periods and what happens when they end.
  • Make sure the quote is complete: tear-off, ice and water shield, flashing and ventilation. See what a new roof costs in NJ.
  • Check the contractor. In New Jersey, home improvement contractors must be registered with the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs and give you a written contract. Ours: HIC #13VH13555200.
  • Don't delay a leaking roof to save up. Water damage to the deck, insulation and ceilings quickly makes the job more expensive.

Questions Homeowners Ask Us

Do you offer roof financing for repairs, or only replacements?

Financing options are available for roof replacements and larger repairs. Ask us about your specific project.

Will checking roof financing options affect my credit?

It depends on the lender and the type of application. We tell you what to expect before you apply.

What about my insurance deductible?

Your deductible is your share of an insurance claim and must be paid. Be careful with any contractor who offers to "waive" or hide it. If paying it at once is hard, ask us about payment options.

Do you also finance siding and gutters?

Many homeowners replace gutters or siding together with the roof. Ask us about financing the complete project.
